What is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini Yoga, the yoga of awareness, was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1969.  It is a comprehensive system that integrates postures, breath, mudras (hand gestures) and chanting of mantras. These are called kriyas. Each kriya focuses on a particular purpose.

The gift of Kundalini Yoga is that You experience it.  There are no beginner, intermediate, or advanced classes. All practitioners have their own unique experience. It can be practiced by almost everyone regardless of fitness, occupation and experience.

It balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system and expands lung capacity.  It moves energy and prana (vital life force) through the body.  Kundalini yoga uses the breath to regulate the energy of life, the quality of emotions and the ability to direct the mind.  It can help you relax, cope with stress and find peace of mind.
