Deepen your ability to connect with yourself and your partner in a gentle, safe, and playful environment. Through movement, touch and expressive arts we will explore profound and subtle states of awareness and connection, within the context of the group. Discover and play with how the “dance” can act as metaphors for relationship dynamics. Explore leading and following, weight sharing, mirroring, and co-creation of new ways of relating.

Though this is not a skills workshop, we will be using the principles and objectives of contact improvisation as the main movement modality. We will be focused on ways to move, which is about process and relational dynamics, rather than how to move, which is about technique. No dance or artistic experience is necessary. All levels of physical ability are welcome. Please bring a large drawing pad, drawing utensils, and journals for each of you. Please wear soft, loose fitting, comfortable clothes.

“If you want to get to a new place, you can’t know where you are going,” by Steve Paxton
